Tiarra Owens

Tiarra brings more than 10 years of experience in education, fundraising, and relationship building to Trust for Learning. She began her career as an elementary social studies teacher in the Greater Cincinnati region, where she also earned her Master of Education with a focus on School Counseling. Her studies emphasized strength-based and solution-focused approaches, shaping her passion for supporting students and families holistically.

This work led Tiarra to serve as a Wraparound Coordinator in the Cleveland area, where she acted as a neutral facilitator connecting students, families, educators, and community partners to essential resources. Prior to joining Trust for Learning, she served as Senior Manager of Development with 4‑H, playing a key role in building corporate and foundation partnerships that expanded hands-on learning opportunities for more than six million youth nationwide.

Tiarra also supported Honesty for Ohio Education, a nonpartisan, statewide coalition dedicated to championing honest education, affirming all identities, cultures, and lived experiences, and protecting the rights and safety of students, families, and educators. In this role, she helped the organization develop a strategy to expand individual donor engagement, strengthening its capacity to serve as a centralized network for education, advocacy, and community-building across the Ohio Statehouse, State Board of Education, and local school districts.

Outside of work, Tiarra volunteers with Impact 100 Cincinnati, a women’s collective giving circle that awards transformational grants to local nonprofit organizations. She is also a proud wife and mother of two.
