Five Existing Head Start Providers Transitioning to IL Approaches

Trust for Learning Supports Head Start Providers to Expand Ideal Learning

Through this initiative, Trust for Learning supports a cohort of five existing Head Start providers as they work to transition their early learning models to ideal learning. These one-year grants assist providers with resources, tools, and technical assistance to implement individualized transition plans.

Trust for Learning created the Head Start Quality Grants initiative to leverage federal dollars and ensure that children and families who are experiencing poverty have access to high-quality programs aligned with the principles of ideal learning. Grant funding supports Head Start, Early Head Start, and Migrant and Seasonal programs.

Together, this new cohort of grantee partners serve more than 1,200 children across five states:

All Our Kin (New Haven, CT) – a group of Early Head Start family child care providers looking to build their knowledge and practice of Montessori pedagogy.

Asian Human Services Passages Early Learning Center (Chicago, IL) – a program committed to serving Asian immigrant families planning to fully adopt a project-based Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.

Beginning Futures (St. Louis, MO)a center looking to deepen its commitment to high-quality, STEAM-enriched, culturally responsive early care and education through adoption of a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum.

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (Toledo, OH) – a network of Head Start programs serving low-income and migrant populations looking to strengthen professional development and family and community partnerships.

Tri-County Head Start (Paw Paw, MI) – a network of Head Start sites looking to complete a transition to HighScope across 45 classrooms.

We look forward to learning from our partners as they undertake this important work!
