Dr. Rebecca Pelton, Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE)
Dr. Rebecca Pelton is the President of the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE). MACTE is the national accreditor for Montessori Teacher Education programs and institutions and is recognized by the US Department of Education. Prior to her tenure with MACTE, she worked as Vice President for Membership for the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) in Washington, DC. She was responsible for building institutional membership for accreditation of national and international college and university education programs. She has been involved at every level of accreditation, including participation with the CHEA and USDE certification process, trainings, consultations, and site visits. Prior to her work with TEAC, she served as an educator of children and adults in private and public settings and expresses her passion for “capitalizing on each student’s individual interests and talents, and encouraging a love for learning, regardless of the subject at hand.” Rebecca received her doctorate in educational leadership through the University of Delaware.
