Nora serves as the Education Director of the James Walton Fund. Before joining the Fund, Nora was the President of the Colorado League of Charter Schools. Nora started at the League in 2008, first as the Vice President of School Services, then as the Senior Vice President before being tapped to head the organization. Nora has over thirty years of experience in education as a teacher and principal in international, public and private schools. She was the co-founder of The Classical Academy in Minneapolis, served as Head of School of Madison Country Day School and as Director of Sonoma Charter School. Nora’s passion is building strong school leadership in diverse school models, ensuring that all families have the opportunity to access high quality public schools that meet their and their children’s needs. Her current work supporting research into innovative, learner-centered school designs, collaborating with local, state, national and international Montessori pedagogues and practitioners, and exploring partnerships with like-minded organizations is helping the team develop its strategic plan for the future.
